I am currently an Associate Professor in Women's & Gender Studies and Sociology at the University of Oregon. I completed my Ph.D. in the Department of Sociology with a Designated Emphasis in Women, Gender, and Sexuality at the University of California, Berkeley in 2012.
My research agenda spans the fields of race, ethnicity and migration on the one hand, and gender, culture and the nation on the other. My work centers on the formation of collective identity in a global world, specifically within the domains of immigration and nationalism. I study these issues primarily within Nigeria and the Nigerian Diaspora.
